20 x 30 Sec Hills

LOAD: 23

10 Mins WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

1 x 30 Second Hill Rep (RPE: 9)
60 Seconds Downhill @ Easy Pace (RPE: 4)
x 20

10 Mins CD @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

Great session as hill reps force you to run with good form, lifting the knees higher and really driving the elbows back. Work hard for the 30 seconds uphill, recovery back down for 60 seconds.

FEEDBACK

ENJOYMENT

RPE

👊 Nailed my target

PACE

Did this on Link Road Path, and gradient was less than I thought (it gets steeper further up) but I think still worked well. Paced it well I think as went roughly same distance each rep, but got more difficult for the last few reps. Actually relatively enjoyable, even though I did it on my own.

The hill itself for these doesn’t need to be too steep. In fact if you do something like Elphinstone it’s so steep you end up running with poor form and it then defeats the object. Hence why my days of doing Elphinstone Road hill reps are long gone. Sounds like it went well and glad you enjoyed it, nice to keep some distance from the traffic.
