240 Mins

LOAD: 72

240 Mins @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3-8)

All about time on feet. Don’t push the pace early on and ensure you are well hydrated and have fuel to take on at regular intervals.

Slowly building up that time on feet again.

😁 Good pace given the conditions/route

Strange run- I’d planned to drive to South Downs but unfortunately had car trouble and had to drop my car at Wilmoths… so decided to run from there! Initially allowed myself to get totally lost (I actually used to get very anxious if I was lost so am quite proud that I can do that!) … Then decided to run to Robertsbridge and used a map on Alltrails. A bit creepy in places as no one was about due to relentless rain! I kept running right up to the moment of getting on the train home so the break in running was as short as possible, then ran home from Warrior Square. Shin hurt a bit for first two hours, then settled, then I had weird pains towards the end, but moving between shin and ankle… I learnt the pain could be ignored if it moved on… Got home and massaged shin then later walked to St Leonards to meet a friend and it felt okay.

That’s a strange trail from Battle to Robertsbridge. I did it myself and a few of the team have got lost recently attempting it. But it’s nice to have that adventure, sounds pretty epic given the conditions. 4 hours on your feet and the fact you were then still able to walk into St.Leonards is a good sign. Again it’s about managing and monitoring the pain I think. I’m in my marathon block now and the training is getting full on and things are hurting, but I just see it as my bodies way of trying to convince me to stop, but I’m not listening 😂 But every niggle is different so it’s just a case of monitoring and trying to ensure they don’t turn into injuries. But really well done for this run. Hopefully another confidence booster. Well done Anna.
