Rye Ancient Trails 30K

LOAD: 85

5 Mins WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 2)

30K @ Target Pace (RPE: 4-8)

Such a fantastic event on some beautiful trails. Your pace will be determined by your goals and whether you are racing or treating it as an easy run. Training pts will also vary depending on your pace goals. Good luck.

Entirely up to you how you approach. You could push the pace if you wanted and go for some big points. I’m planning on doing it as a long easy run which for you might be a good pace to run a decent time, so you’re welcome to use me as a guide (I’ll start fast to avoid the bottle next at the stile) or treat it as a long easy run which will mean more time on feet and benefit you for the ultra.

That was an experience.. I want to like trails but I really dont think that is ever going to happen. I enjoy the views and the woods but those hilly fields and that mud track definitely not! Despite falling, getting my leg caught in brambles and going the wrong way I am pleased with the result! I just kept telling myself if I stop I wont want to carry on so just kept it going. Made alot of the time up on the roads. Definitely couldnt keep up with you! 😂

Sorry about that Lindsey. I did end up going 10 mins faster than the link I sent the other day. It wasn’t my intention at all, just ran to feel. I’ll be honest I’m not a massive fan and only ever do the occasional trail run and always keep it easy(ish). But a great result all the same. 1st HR female and 200pts banked. Not often we do over 3 hours on a Sunday either, even when marathon training so that time on feet is invaluable, especially with the ultra coming up. But definitely going forward, stick to what you enjoy.
