30 Mins Easy

LOAD: 60

30 Mins @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

Sometimes a 30 minute shake out can help recovery or just give you some much needed head space. Keep it easy.

A nice outing with run club. The running community is great right? Enjoy.

I struggled with cramp in my calves again tonight. I was thinking about how I place my feet and I think when I run slower I think I heel strike which I think might be contributing to the cramp. I was trying to think about moving my feet quicker as I think I set my foot down steadier when I do that. Over the weekend I think I might also go and get some advice about some new running shoes or buy some of my old faithful adidas ones that I ran my previous 2 marathons in.

It might be a follow on from the long run last week, it could be technical. I was always someone that used my calves way too much to run and that led to quite a lot of tightness. I’ll mention this to Andy as well as wanted to bring it up, but if you could both get some video footage, using your phone is fine, of you running, you can send it over so I can take a look. Then we can start to work on some things which might help your efficiency. I’m obsessed with my own running form and feel it’s made a big difference.
