30 Mins Swim

LOAD: 60

30 Mins Swimming @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

It’s said that 1 minute of swimming has the same benefit as 1 minute of running. So a nice 30 minute swim replaces an easy 30 minute run and takes away any impact. Ideal if you are struggling a little with injury.

Lovely start to the week!

I’m not sure my swimming equals running minute from minute, like my running, I’m a plodder! Breaststroke and not crawl for me, especially in the sea. Having said all that, I cycled/ spin for 30 mins, moderate effort, as no time as yet to get to the pool, and too windy for the sea. There was an extra 20 mins sea swim Sunday pm too. I also added in a 1 mile weighted walk, as Basil didn’t want a third walk ( poor boy is tired, with Mike retired he’s getting extra walks!). Sorry if I’m throwing out any training load. Shall I do Heathfield? I’ve opted to marshal next Tuesday.

This is great feedback as it really helps me. It’s important that I do differentiate between the swims, so we get that training load right. Leave it with me. Heathfield? Have you done it before? 5km downhill and 5k uphill, so quite a challenging one. At the moment we’ve got easy parkrun and long run in the plan. Heathfield could replace both of those if you preferred that option? Is Tuesday morning an option next week. Likely some of the team will be doing a session together in the park still, if they are happy to meet without me there. Thanks Su.
