Romney 10K

LOAD: 40

2km WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 2)
8 x 100 metre Strides (RPE: 8)
60s Recoveries

10km @ 10k Pace (RPE: 6-9)

2km CD @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

A fast flat course, offering up a good opportunity to run a good time. Try and be consistent with your pace and dig deep in the 2nd half of the race.

Excellent opportunity for a 10k PB. Although the heat will make it tricky. Remember what I said about small improvements? So my advice would be run this within yourself. Start off around 7:45-7:50, then you can finish strong. Especially if the glute is still a minor issue, you don’t want to go off too fast and have to slow down late in the race. You’ve got the Vitality 10K to look forward to as well so would be great if you improved your team here and then in that race as well. Very best of luck. You got this.

FEEDBACK

ENJOYMENT

RPE

👊 Nailed my target

PACE

After doing alot of trail, hilly races and especially after doing bewl I felt I just needed a flat road race. So glad I entered this. Road is definitely my thing. Tried to not go off to fast and stick to my pacing. Felt strong throughout even though it was hot. I really enjoyed it and will definitely be back next year. One of my favourite races! And happy to achieve my a 10k PB!

Congrats on your PB Lindsey. It’s important to understand what it is you enjoy and roll with that. I’m the same, for me running is all about finding a consistent pace, and holding it. Focusing on moving well and being mindful. The trail and hills deny us that, hence why I find it frustrating. So if you find a race like this you enjoy, stick it in the calendar every year. Fantastic running.
