A great marathon sessions to practice goal pace. As the session progresses that RPE will creep up and you’ll have to work hard in the last 5km block.

So whilst marathon pace should have some level of comfort attached it’s important to remember this is a “session”, so when it gets tough in those last 6-8km, don’t panic, work hard. The marathon is a long way off, so loads of time to build endurance and be able to run 42.2km at this pace.

FEEDBACK

ENJOYMENT

RPE

👊 Nailed my target

PACE

Took a few km to get going and 1st 5km at marathon pace was easy pace really, but then happy with my 3 sets of 5kms after that. Felt good and actually very fresh, prob as I haven’t run that much over the past few weeks

Splits for those last 3 x 5km were awesome!! A lot to like here and shows that a decent marathon time is on the cards. Great running Ben. Glad the ankle is feeling better too.
