A great marathon sessions to practice goal pace. As the session progresses that RPE will creep up and you’ll have to work hard in the last 5km block.

Last real chance to smash out a decent marathon session with Brighton only 2 weeks away.

Felt really good. I was on for a half marathon PB without really pushing, until my knee started to hurt 1km into the final rep, so I scratched and got the train home from Normans bay. 19.5km @4:29 average with 5km efforts around 4:15-4:25.

Half marathon PB in training 😂 You do like to push yourself don’t you. To be honest given the pace you were running you probably hit the target training load without the need for that extra 5km rep. So all good. Just be wary of pacing as Brighton was a bit of a flop due to poor pacing early on from my runners which is very disappointing given the instructions I gave.
