45 Mins Easy

LOAD: 100

45 Mins @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

The only real mistake you can make here is going too fast. Try and pick a flat route as well. Hills will push that RPE too high.

Rye 10 does us some favours here, as the training load is so high, we can keep the rest of the week easy. If you did want to join the efforts gang on Tuesday, that would be ok, so long as you’re not pushing too hard at Rye. It’s all a bit of a juggling act some weeks. Especially when you’re not at full health. I wouldn’t want you to feel like you’re missing out if you have Tuesday evening free (we’ll be in the park doing longer reps).

I was planning to go out with Nick but Lindsey convinced me to go with her. I’m glad I did as she’d have been on her own with a big bunch of blokes😂 it felt a bit to fast to start with and you know I like to keep my easy run super easy, but I actually really enjoyed it and it was a bit of a confidence boost as I was chatting the whole time my heart rate stayed in zone 2 for the majority and it was a good 30 secs quicker average than I usually go for with something easy. So even though I’m not planning to massively increase my easy run pace its a good boost to know I’m capable of running faster paces and not exerting huge efforts.

So pleased you enjoyed this. It’s an interesting point as I’ve said it many times before. Slower doesn’t always mean easier. It’s good to know you do have the ability to run that little bit quicker and still keep the heart rate down. Further evidence the fitness is still really good despite the glute being such a knobhead.
