45 Minute Tempo (HM)

LOAD: 31

10 Mins WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 2)
45 Mins @ Half Marathon Pace (RPE: 6)
10 Mins CD @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

The pace for this time should feel fairly comfortable and give you a nice confidence boost ahead of race day that the early stages will be enjoyable.

Getting some early half marathon paced miles in!

PACE

That was a bit of a disaster. 🫣In hindsight I should have swapped it with the easy run as feeling sore in my back, got a bit of a dodgy belly and it’s the day before my period so my core temperature is about 4000degrees ! and everything just feels off🥵 found it difficult to find the Sweet spot with pace. I was either too fast or too slow. Pretty sure if I do it in a couple of days when I’m at a different point in my cycle I’ll feel really strong! I will definitely try and find time to give it another go next week. As I know it’s a confidence boost I need and that I have it in me!

It is particularly hot as well. But I think it’s a good lesson here to take going forward. Sometimes we know beforehand how we feel. And changing a session, even if we don’t make it up later in the week, should never been seen as a failure, but rather strategic. You still got out there and ran a decent pace, so that’s great. I’m never going to criticise, especially given the circumstances and the honest feedback obviously helps me understand more, so I appreciate that. Still positives to take, so well done Alice.
