5 x 1 Mile Reps

LOAD: 360

1.25 Mile WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

1 Mile Reps @ 5 Mile Pace (RPE: 8)
3 Mins Recovery
x 5

1.25 Mile CD @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

A challenging session as holding goal pace for 1 mile can be tough, but it builds up your endurance and mental strength.

Perfect session for the 5 miler and I plan to be in the park Tuesday morning at 10am. Hoping a few others will be there too. If you haven’t quite recovered from Sunday then sit this out and we can tweak the plan as it’s a recovery week so the training load is modest.

Ok I’m not going to lie, that was tough and got tougher, I had to dig in, but I guess that’s the point. It was hot, so busy and my legs were like lead at the end. Saying all of that I ran an 8;52 pace, so not too bad. Average stride length was 0.99m so consistently getting longer. I’m looking forward to a good stretch at yoga tonight!

It’s a really tough session that as we rarely do reps that long. You pretty much nailed your 5 mile paced and when you factor in Sunday’s fatigue, the busy park and the heat that is a brilliant effort. On a positive we don’t do sessions with training loads that high very often, bit it is great prep for the 5 Miler next week. Awesome work Sue. Really well done for sticking with it. I appreciate the company as I know the others did and helps me push myself, a session I needed after my disappointing race at Seaford, so thank you.
