5 x 1 Mile Reps

LOAD: 360

1.25 Mile WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

1 Mile Reps @ 5 Mile Pace (RPE: 8)
3 Mins Recovery
x 5

1.25 Mile CD @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

A challenging session as holding goal pace for 1 mile can be tough, but it builds up your endurance and mental strength.

I’ll be doing this in the park Tuesday morning. Might only be a few of us, so if you prefer to do the evening session (on the seafront) which is a bit easier (2-4-6-6-6-4-2) that’s fine. Both sessions are designed with the Hastings 5 Miler coming up.

That was hard. As you know longer reps really aren’t my thing. The first one I felt my legs just didnt want to move possibly still from the 2 previous runs they felt so heavy and I did go off too quick. But the 4th and 5th lap I actually started enjoying. The last half of year rep was much better than the start.

This isn’t a session we’ll do very often because it’s horrible right? But with the 5 miler next week it’s perfect training and what it does is make us mentally tough as well. To keep pushing when the natural instinct is to stop. So really well done, especially on such little recovery. Awesome running Lindsey. The pigeons were impressed with us.
