5K On/Off

LOAD: 340

2km WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

1km @ 10k Pace (RPE: 7)
1km @ Marathon Pace (RPE: 5)
x 5

2km CD @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

A good opportunity to run 10k with half of the session at goal pace. The other half will be around marathon pace. This will build confidence and get you used to running at your goal race pace.

As you don’t work in kms, you could use the following.

4 mins @ 10k pace
5 mins @ marathon pace
x 5

Pretty much the same session in truth.

Varied but around 7mm for 10k and 7.30 for HM pace.

PACE

Tough session in this heat. Ended up stopping briefly to catch my breath.

I can’t remember the exact figures but I did see a video which explained just how much the heat effects our pace, and it’s huge, pretty sure it was almost a minute per mile in temperatures in the mid 20s. So respect for getting this done. Great job Kieran.
