Out of the Blue 5K

LOAD: 25

2km WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 2)

5km @ Varied Pace (RPE: 6-9)

2km CD @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

Tough route if you choose to race it. Pace will fluctuate given the elevation so focus on maintaining a consistent RPE.

Nice to support this charity. It’s obviously never going to be a fast race, but try and be consistent with the RPE if you can. Very best of luck Kieran.

Not feeling it tonight. Got very tired very quickly, just had to hang on for most of it. Lots of work crap going on so put it down to that. good fun tough and a great event.

Sorry to hear work is going shit. I get that, the mindset has to be right to really push hard in a race. Still a decent effort in terms of RPE and from a training perspective that’s what matters the most. Plus sounds like you enjoyed the whole experience too. Well done Kieran. If work stress does become an issue in terms of motivating you for the hard session please reach out, we can always make tweaks. I had such a bad race at Seaford a month ago I couldn’t face any tough sessions so just ran easy the following week, albeit clocking more miles, but it just help me reset and then go again. So don’t feel you have to stick religiously to the plan if the head isn’t in the game.
