60 Mins Easy (Hills)

60 Mins @ Easy Pace (RPE: 2-5)

60 mins on the flat is quite different to 60 mins on the hills. So it’s important to differentiate between the two and if you do a hilly easy run, to account for that extra training load and how it might impact the rest of your week.

I’m actually encouraging hills now for these group runs as Tuesday and Saturday are both flat.

I actually ran about 6 miles – due to loopbacks and a slight detour in the park from my planned route, and did a fair bit of hill work in that. But all at a comfortable pace.

Nice. I think with that increased training load on these, it means you can push that little bit harder, add those hills and not worry so much about wearing yourself out. It’s all scheduled into the plan. Unlike my 60 mins easy run this week which had more elevation than Hastings Half 😂
