60 Mins & Strides

LOAD: 22

60 Mins @ Easy Pace (RPE: 2-3)

8 x 100 metre Strides (RPE: 8)
60 Second Recoveries

Best done in a group!! Keep the RPE down, so you should be able to chat. Don’t forget those strides. They are very important. Enjoy.

Keep this super easy, perhaps hit the trails to slow the pace down a little. Move forward a day if you want to do the main session Friday.

FEEDBACK

ENJOYMENT

RPE

😁 Good pace given the conditions/route

PACE

Well I’m not running efficiently thats for sure my hr shot up to 170bpm in the first mile while the legs were hurting(possibly hr monitor battery fault) It did come back down after that and settled but it shows something is wrong. Discomfort didn’t get any worse throughout but it is very un settling to say the least. I was going drop the strides but decide to give them a go and got them done no worse pain but the stop start nature of them is what aggravates the legs the most, I’m not sure how the weekends session is going to go but will certainly try my best to battle through and get it done. Then straight of to see paige afterwards and hopefully she can do something to help me out. I have some real dout about even doing the England race atm I really don’t want to be the team embarrassment, but I guess I can only play the cards I have been dealt.

When it comes to running, you could never be an embarrassment, trust me. I’ve done the HHM in 2 hours 34, run 10ks in 68 mins and finished 2nd from last in the Alan Corke one year. I’ve so much respect for you as a runner and just how good you are. As do so many other people. And who gives a shit what anyone else thinks. Some of them have probably been running for their whole lives, you’re still new to it all. Let’s see what Paige says and go from there. Well done for getting this session done.
