45 Minute Tempo (HM)

LOAD: 33

10 Mins WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 2)

45 Mins @ Half Marathon Pace (RPE: 6)

10 Mins CD @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

Practicing goal race pace is essential, especially for a half marathon. It’s important we hit our targets in training so on race day it feels achievable.

So the idea we use the Wednesday evening group as a tempo run. We want to be trying to average that half marathon pace. Obviously it will depend on the route, if it’s hilly adjust the pace accordingly and try and keep your RPE consistent. Use the first 10 mins and last 5 mins for the run as a WU & CD.

FEEDBACK

ENJOYMENT

RPE

😁 Good pace given the conditions/route

PACE

I didn’t quite average the 5.50 half marathon pace for the 45 mins but I did push myself by running with a faster group today. The first 3k were on pace or faster but hard to keep it over the hills. Did the strides but 6 rather than 8.

Really well done for stepping up a group. Yes the hills will make it tricky to maintain that half marathon pace but as long as the effort was still there that’s what matters. So every reason to be really pleased with this run. Great running Alison.
