60 Mins Swim

60 Mins Swimming @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

It’s said that 1 minute of swimming has the same benefit as 1 minute of running. So a nice 60 minute swim replaces an easy run and takes away any impact. Ideal if you are struggling a little with injury.

My first pool swim for a few weeks. I had planned to go to Rye again but didn’t fancy it with the weather. It was actually a bit of a blessing as it gave me a chance to practice some of the technique tips I’d been given by the coach in rye in a controlled environment and when you can see what your arms are doing a bit as they enter the water. I was able to really get a feeling for how changing something minor can have an impact on how efficient you are. I really felt like I was swimming quicker with a lot less effort…a bit like when quicker cadence finally clicks with running!

This sounds great. I know swimming is very technical and it must be fun making those changes to improve. Sounds like you are making those improvements too which is excellent to hear. I hate coaches who say technique doesn’t matter, such a lazy approach. Well done on ticking off another session and accumulating those precious training points.
