60 Mins Swim

LOAD: 150

60 Mins Swimming @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

It’s said that 1 minute of swimming has the same benefit as 1 minute of running. So a nice 60 minute swim replaces an easy run and takes away any impact. Ideal if you are struggling a little with injury.

The training load here is based on easy swimming, so if you have less time, chuck in some intensity and we still hit that target.

Got my longest swim in 2150 and felt pretty good at the end. It wasn’t a full 60 mins due to the session times but I chucked a few sets of 50m efforts in. Really enjoyed the swimming and will look to take a couple of the swims to the sea if the weather continues to improve. Need to get some practice in in the wetsuit

This is great and I’m really grateful you’ve stuck with me in recent months as you’ve taught me a lot. How much cross training can help maintain the fitness levels when runners might be struggling. So thank you for that support Alice, it means a lot.
