80 Mins

LOAD: 24

80 Mins @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

Try and keep it easy. It all depends on your current level. If slowly adding time to your long run the last 10-20 mins might be tough. Focus on good form.

Given it’s The Amble next week this is plenty. We really need to save the legs for that as it’s almost a marathon so it needs a lot of respect.

ENJOYMENT

RPE

🤬 Way off pace today

PACE

7 miles in 80 minutes seemed more than doable, however didn’t take into account that it’s taking me way longer to recover these days and the route was quite an adventure! I started off proper moany and hating it. Not gonna lie, my tummy has been horrible since Thursday’s race. I look 6 months pregnant at the moment 😅 but as we got going it was such a nice route, and it was fun actually. Although there was lots of places where we couldn’t run, it was definitely a mood lifter which was what I needed.

Really pleased you enjoyed it and that’s the most important thing right? Sorry to hear about the stomach. That doesn’t sound great. I’ve had a quick look (AI google 🤦‍♂️) and perhaps it is some kind of intolerance. As someone that has had huge benefits from changing my diet, I’d be inclined to try it for a week (what’s one week) and see if you notice any difference. Cut out the gluten and dairy (they are the normal two key issues in diet) and see what happens. Happy to discuss food option if you do want to try this approach as I’ve not eaten either for the past 15 years.
