10K Race

LOAD: 45

2km WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 2)

10km @ 10km Pace (RPE: 6-8)

2km CD @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

Pacing is everything when it comes to a 10k race. The first half of the race should feel controlled and then you’ll really have to dig deep as the RPE rises. Try and maintain consistent splits throughout. If the route is undulating be sure to do your homework so you know when the hills are coming and how long they will last.

Hellingly 10k. No need to do your strides before this one and keep the WU to 5 mins. Take the race relatively easy, as we don’t want to wear you out ahead of the HHM.

FEEDBACK

ENJOYMENT

RPE

😁 Good pace given the conditions/route

PACE

I actually oddly really enjoyed this run …. Didn’t look at my watch ran to how I felt didn’t really push, walked couple of hill bits. I had enough in the tank to sprint finish because some said to runners behind to beat us lol 😂 Was actually 1min 31sec faster then battle and my second fastest 10k I’m buzzing and still feel great 😊 not really achy at all x

Really well done Chrissy. These type of races it can help not to pay much attention to the watch as our pace can fluctuate a lot on the hills. So you did the right thing and the fact you felt strong at the end just highlights that the fitness is improving all the time. A decent improvement on Battle and with the right course that 10k PB is coming soon.
