AC Track Session

LOAD: 30

10 Mins WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 2)

Group session as instructed (RPE: 7-9)

10 Mins CD @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

Hastings AC have some really strong runners, so this is a very good session for sub 20 5k athletes. Tuesday’s they normally do longer reps and between 25-30 mins of running.

FEEDBACK

ENJOYMENT

RPE

👊 Nailed my target

PACE

5×5 minutes, I was happy with these and remained very consistant, when you do a break down of splits, it was nearly spot on, which makes me think can I push more? I have noticed in most races and most training my first kilometre/ mile is usually my slowest, which shows I’m pacing myself but should I push more earlier!

It’s a good question and very hard to get right. For me I like consistent splits across all distances and if you get it right the first should feel much easier than the last as you’ll naturally start to fatigue. But if you get your pace right you should finish the session knowing you’ve put in a good shift. That said we don’t have to go eye balls out each week. Improvements take time and slowly but surely you should see that pace improve. Another good session ticked off so well done Jack.
