LOAD: 45

2km WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 2)

10.3km @ HM – Marathon Pace (RPE: 6-9)

2km CD @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

Hard to set a pace given the elevation. A tough route but a great race. Can be done as an easy run if you prefer. VIEW THE ROUTE.

Lap 1 = Easy. Lap 2 down the hill start to increase the effort and then slow & steady up the hill. Lap 3 give it all you’ve got. If you hold back at the start then you should find towards the end you’ll pick a few runners off. No targets here, just treat this as a good training run. And don’t worry if you need to walk a few sections, count to 30 and go again. Stay positive up those hills and focus on good form. Very best of luck Jodie. You got this.

I’m not a fan of trail runs or laps, it was hilly and it got hot, so why did I sign up for this? 🙈😂 However that being said it wasn’t too bad. I only don’t like those things because they make me uncomfortable and I struggle so I guess the answer is to get comfortable! Plus side I wasn’t last! It was nice to be back running after a week off

It’s a bit of a brute that course. Sometimes it’s just good to be part of a race like that. Great to have to have you back and glad you enjoyed it to some degree. I think a race like that never gets easy in truth, you just get a bit quicker. I found it super tough as well if I’m honest and a reminder that running hard on the trails and hills isn’t what I enjoy. There’s no shame in that. It’s a hobby after all so we should focus on the runs which bring us the most pleasure. Well done Jodie.
