LOAD: 45

2km WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 2)

10.3km @ HM – Marathon Pace (RPE: 6-9)

2km CD @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

Hard to set a pace given the elevation. A tough route but a great race. Can be done as an easy run if you prefer. VIEW THE ROUTE.

My advice from personal experience here is hit the flats and downhills hard, including the first lap, so go quick from the start, then you can just be steady up the hills with some time already banked. Plus it’s very narrow through the wooded path and on Lap 1 if you get stuck behind someone slower it can be tough to pass. That said if it’s wet and muddy be a little careful with your footing.

Hardest 10k ive done!! This really wasn’t my thing but glad I gave it a go. The first bit of each lap I didnt mind too much just about watching your footings but the hills of just seemed never ending. I thought the last half I thought must all be mainly down but how wrong was I! Happy with my time though.

2nd lady is a fantastic result, especially as this isn’t your type of run. It’s good in the sense we’ll all be fitter and stronger as a result, but certainly in the moment it’s a really tough run. Well done Lindsey.
