Barry Richards 10K

LOAD: 45

2km WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)
4-8 Strides x 100 Metres (RPE: 8)

10K @ 10K Pace (RPE: 7)

2km CD @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

An excellent opportunity to run a fast 10K. As with any 10k, be sure not to go off too fast, lots of the other runners will be, so settle into your target pace early on and then really dig deep after the turnaround.

You should approach this with a lot of confidence as you are running really well right now. Nerves are normal. I’ve done this race loads of times and will still be nervous in the build up. My trusty pace sheet is saying sub 50 is a good target based on your current training, but that would depend on the wind playing ball. Very best of luck, you got this!

FEEDBACK

ENJOYMENT

RPE

😁 Good pace given the conditions/route

PACE

Really enjoyed this and turned in a decent pb. Maybe was bit too comfortable at some points, so maybe could have squeezed a bit more out of it but happy with result!

So pleased you enjoyed this as congrats on the PB. It was a hard one to judge going into the wind on the way out. I think a lot of us got to about 7-8km and felt stronger that we would normally in a 10k, because at that point we had the breeze behind. Plus it’s nice to finish a 10k and feel like there’s a little bit more in the tank. A fantastic result and congrats on winning the FV50 prize (eventually 😂).
