Easy parkrun

LOAD: 9

parkrun @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

Always nice to be involved in parkrun but some weeks it’s best to run it easy. Try not to get caught up and run too fast.

Had a mishap at parkrun, I only ran 0.19 miles and this parkrun goes straight into a down hill so I was going a little faster. I was talking to my friend and didn’t see a branch that had been kicked into the path. Stood on the branch, went over on my ankle, lost my balance and fell forwards down the hill. 2 grazed hands and 2 grazed knees and ruined leggings. On Saturday I thought Palma might have been over but today (Monday) my ankle and knee feels ok in terms of injury. The only thing hurting is the horrible big graze on my knee when I bend it. But hoping with a few more days to heal it should start to feel better. I will try and do a little tester run on Thursday before we fly.

😥 So sorry to hear this, that sounds awful and so unlucky. I think from experience of these injuries myself (I like a good fall), they feel very stiff and painful when you first run, especially the knee, but if it’s only a graze and bruising it will hopefully loosen up after a mile or two which means you may well still be fine to run on Sunday. But yes give it a go on Thursday and my advice would be run for at least 20 mins knowing the first 10 are likely to be uncomfortable but then it may loosen up. Really hope you are ok to run Sarah.
