Full Body S&C

LOAD: 15

Should include around 4-5 leg exercises. Squats, lunges, calf raises and a hinge exercise are important. Also 2-3 core exercises and both push & pull upper body exercises.

Just the one this week with Sunday’s race in mind!

I’ve done all my S and C apart from squats, split squats and kb swings as these all would aggravate the current Achilles problem. I’m resting, icing, doing exercises and considerably less walking than usual. Tomorrow I should be doing an effort session involving fast running which I’ve read can also aggravate Achilles pain . Coach I’m thinking I’d best not do it. I’m testing the injury by walking only and seeing if symptoms get worse or improve within 24 hours – it was very bad on left foot after I arrived at my son’s house yesterday..What would you suggest for the rest of this week until Henfield?

Well done for getting these done Sarah and sensible to rest the exercises which could aggravate the achilles. From your description of “very bad” my advice would be to rest up until Sunday and not doing any runs or sessions. That’s what I would do with a half marathon looming at the weekend. That one run will give you a lot of fitness gains if you can complete it, so better to be rested for that.
