Great South Run

LOAD: 58

10 Mins WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 2)

10 Miles @ 10 Mile Pace (RPE: 6-9)

10 Mins CD @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

I’ve heard really positive things about the Great South Run and it’s a race I would love to do one year. The course is very flat and it attracts a strong field with a massive entry list. 10 Miles isn’t a distance we cover very often so it’s important to get the pacing right and not go off too quickly. That’s easily done when running in a big field when lots of those around you will make that same mistake.

Delighted with this considering the weather, due to the number of runners in my wave I started a long way back and focused on my own pace and run dodging slower runners, I was hoping the catch up the pacers but they finished ahead of the scheduled time. Surprised about how strong I felt,

Fantastic. Love the splits and by the sounds of it you felt really good running at the pace. Perhaps even a little left in the tank. To run a PB and feel that strong just shows what a good place you’re in right now with your fitness. So every reason to be very pleased with yourself. Brilliant running Mark.
