Great South Run

LOAD: 58

10 Mins WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 2)

10 Miles @ 10 Mile Pace (RPE: 6-9)

10 Mins CD @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

I’ve heard really positive things about the Great South Run and it’s a race I would love to do one year. The course is very flat and it attracts a strong field with a massive entry list. 10 Miles isn’t a distance we cover very often so it’s important to get the pacing right and not go off too quickly. That’s easily done when running in a big field when lots of those around you will make that same mistake.

FEEDBACK

ENJOYMENT

RPE

😁 Good pace given the conditions/route

PACE

Ok. It was wet. It was cold at the start. But what a race! Set off with no expectations other than to enjoy it. Got a stitch at 5k but someone jumped by me and we ran together till the end. It felt like I was cruising today! Got a 15k and 10mile PB! So I’m super happy! Nice flat route too so very different from Hastings! Great support despite the diabolical weather!

To run a PB and feel like you were cruising is fantastic. It’s a really nice feeling when that happens and things fall into place. You’ve worked hard for this and should be really pleased with the outcome. It also highlights your potential going forward and I still believe the best is yet to come. Great running Kirsty.
