Full Body Gym Workout

LOAD: 15

Focus mainly on legs & core. 4-5 leg exercises, 3 core and a couple of upper body exercises would make up a well rounded session. Take advantage of the gym equipment if you can.

Lat Pull down 3 x 10
Squats 3 x 10
Chest Press 3 x 10
Hip Thrusts 3 x 10
DeadLift 3 x 10
Step Ups 3 x 10
Leg Curl 3 x 10
Ab Crunch 3 x 10
Bent Knee Calf Raises 3 x 10
Forward Lunge and Rotation 3 x 10

Energy levels dropped massively while I was in the gym, to the point where I started feeling quite ill, so leg curl and calf raises were left out completed. Squats, step ups and forward lunge & rotation were all 2 sets each. Still a 40 minute session, so not all bad. Disgustingly hot, which is not helping at all

I guess the obvious question here, and I’ll probably be patronising you asking this, given your recent ultra training, is what was your fueling and hydration in the build up to this. That combined with sleep is the obvious reason why energy levels might drop. So if it does happen again, just reassess those areas. Obviously if it keeps happening and recovery is good, then we want to delve deeper. But no worries, it’s always important to listen to your body on any given day and adjust the schedule slightly. As you said, still a decent workout. Well done Joe.
