A good session to mix up paces. WU & CD very important to slowly build the pace.

PACE

Really didn’t feel it today and was struggling with MP from the off. Still I stuck at it and didn’t give up (that took everything I had mentally). Hit the pace and got it done. I’m going to hit some trails for my next run and get some mojo back. It’s all good though as Garmin says I can run a quicker marathon now so it must be in my head 🤣

I did my 60 mins at MP on Sunday down Rye Harbour and 10 minutes in I was like WTF is going on? Why is this so tough. We are only 2 weeks out, this isn’t good. But by the time I reached 50 mins I was feeling so much better, I had settled into the pace. I think that’s something we should bear in mind on race day as well. I plan to do a 1km WU but no more to save energy and then expect it might take me up to 5km to really settle down, especially as there will be some nerves and a little anxiety. But I honestly thing once the crowds disperse a little and things settle down, we settle into our pace, it will get easier. So just a case of overcoming those initial doubts that might pop into our head whilst our body is still waking up to the challenge ahead.
