Hastings Runners Handicap 5K

LOAD: 30

2km WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 2)
8 x 100 Metres Strides (RPE: 8)

5km @ 5k Pace (RPE: 7-9)

2km CD @ East Pace (RPE: 3)

So important to know your 5k pace and stick to that at the start. The temptation is to go off too fast and try to catch people up quickly, don’t. Keep it consistent, trust your pacing and then in that final km you’ll start to catch those that have made that mistake.

What you do in the first 2km will determine how well this run goes. Go too fast and it will all go pair shaped. Be patient and sit back and you’ll reap the rewards in those final 2km. Anyone who is running well at the moment has ZERO chance of winning this race, because someone always comes in under the radar and makes a big improvement. So myself, you, the rest of Team Orange who have been running well, consistently for the past few months won’t win. Mark won last year, but he’d not done a 5k for 2 months previously and knocked 2 mins off his time. I mean what chance do we have of knocking 2 mins off our PBs? πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈπŸ˜ So go out there, work hard, but also relax and enjoy it. Good luck Lindsey.

Absolutely loved this. Felt good throughout until the last 200m when I pushed it a little more. Very enjoyable. Happy with my new 5k time! Such a good race to do!
