Hastings 5 Miler

LOAD: 380

10 Mins WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 2)

5 Miles @ 5 Mile Pace (RPE: 5-9)

10 Mins CD @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

5 miles is a really tough distance to get right. Rest assured, this is tough. The first mile is so important, don’t go off too quick and you’ll set yourself up for a strong race.

Hopefully the Rye 10 miler has given you a confidence boost. My trusty pace sheet is saying 8:45 per mile and that would be a decent improvement on last year as well. Approach it with confidence and dig deep when it gets tough. You got this 💪

Target Pace: 8:45 Target Time: 43:45

Well I wasn’t expecting to get my target time but I was pretty spot on 😊 I did struggle in the last mile which was my slowest as turning back into that wind was hard work! Thank you for believing in me as I honestly thought it wasn’t achievable 😊

Fantastic. No thank you for sticking with me. It’s taken you longer to make these improvements, simply due to your extra commitments with work and family. But you’ve stuck with the training, continued to be consistent and now you are getting those rewards. You should really proud of yourself. This is the accumulation of months and months of showing up, doing those tough Sunday runs, strides, hard parkruns and S&C. Congratulations Klare. Really well done.
