Hastings Half Marathon

LOAD: 66

10 Mins WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

13.1 Miles @ HM Pace (RPE: 6)

The big one!! For most of us at least. Try to have a clear pacing strategy and don’t go off too fast. The early hills will be tough, but if you dig deep and don’t panic, it’s gets easier once you hit the ridge. Go smash it!

🤬 Way off pace today

PACE

This wasn’t my race today!! Felt good at the start and until about mile 5 was on target but my glute was tight and then I got a stitch and lost my mojo!! Ran/walked the rest and took a fall at mile 9 which didn’t help and has left me bruised and achy! David caught me up at mile 10 and got me to the end!! Way off target at 2.24 but there’s always next year!! Disappointed but happy to finish! Have decided I’m only going to do it again if I run with someone as it felt very lonely out there 😞

😥 Really sorry to hear this didn’t go to plan. It does happen sometimes, but we both know you’re fitness is in a better place than this, so try not to be too disheartened. It’s only 1 run. Clearly things conspired against you, I know from experience just how uncomfortable a stitch is, the absolute worst in fact. Best thing to do is brush yourself down and go again. There will be better races ahead for sure.
