Hastings Half Marathon

LOAD: 66

10 Mins WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

13.1 Miles @ HM Pace (RPE: 6)

The big one!! For most of us at least. Try to have a clear pacing strategy and don’t go off too fast. The early hills will be tough, but if you dig deep and don’t panic, it’s gets easier once you hit the ridge. Go smash it!

👊 Nailed my target

PACE

I ate a huge bowl of banana porridge two hours before and was still full at the start. Found it a little hard on the early hills and Queensway seemed to go on and on but on the flat and the downhill it felt so easy and comfortable. Brilliant pacing by Stuart. He clearly found the hills very easy but then on the flat he kept to pace so I had plenty of time to recover. The wind on the seafront was no trouble at all even when we got the full blast. We kept a steady easy pace and it was so much slower than recent park runs so I enjoyed it. A little dizzy at the finish but good feeling. Great run and I had plenty in the bank.
Conal Tracey
Wow. To be able to run that time at HHM in those conditions and feel that strong is amazing. Must have been pretty cool running with Stu. My attempt to follow the pacers failed miserably but it still worked out well. Great running Conal and further evidence as to what great shape you are in right now.
