HM Timed Taper

LOAD: 25

10 Mins WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 2)

2 x 12 Mins @ HM Pace (RPE: 6)
120s Recoveries

5 x 1 Min @ 3k Pace (RPE: 8)
60s Recoveries

10 Mins CD @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

A really good session to do as a group the week in the lead up to a half marathon. It gives you an opportunity to run a few miles at goal pace and also get some speed in the legs.

Really enjoyed this. Feel like the HM reps had the pace nailed. Might have slightly over egged it on the 60s reps pace wise but was feeling good with it! Good luck with Chester on Sunday – Remember that your months of training and fitness haven’t been lost in a week off during taper 😁 (I know you’re the coach, but it’s good to hear this from others too I’m sure!)
Jamie Tiltman
Thanks Jamie. Yeah I’m hoping I’m ok. And you’re right it does help. I reached out to Rhys as well as he’s far more knowledgeable about nutrition and his reply was positive too. We’ll see what happens. My last Marathon, Beachy Head, was 5 hours 15 minutes, so it can only get better right? πŸ˜‚ Really well done on this session, looks like you’re running really well at the moment. The wind might be a factor Sunday so if you can tuck in behind someone on the front for 3km, even if it means slowing down a touch, you can then unleash in the last km. Very best of luck.
