Last Leg Relays

LOAD: 25

2km WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 2)

3km @ 3km Pace (RPE: 8)
3km @ Pace of Team (RPE:5-8)

2km CD @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

A great event where you take part in teams running a total of around 6km. A good replacement for a weekly efforts.

Last weeks 5 x 1km session should have given you a good idea of the pace you’re looking to hit here. Any event like this it’s so important to make sure you have that awareness and don’t go off to quick. I see so many people make that mistake. So just keep a check on your early pace, especially the first 500 metres that you are around 4:00-4:05 per km otherwise it’s likely you could struggle in the last km. Better to finish strongly. Very best of luck. Hope you have a very enjoyable race.

That was a really good evening, and was good to see you there! Annoyingly I forgot to set the watch going when I started my legs, but I feel like I came in just under the 4min/km, although will have to wait for the results to come out to know for sure. It worked out well that although I was 4th leg, the pace of the team meant I could push my solo leg with the knowledge of a lower effort team leg to go straight into.

Lovely to meet you Jamie and impressed with your running and time tonight. Lovely to be part of a race like that and good training in that you can test that speed and get comfortable running sub 4:00 per km in a race environment. Awesome work.
