Out of the Blue 5K

LOAD: 25

2km WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 2)

5km @ Varied Pace (RPE: 6-9)

2km CD @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

Tough route if you choose to race it. Pace will fluctuate given the elevation so focus on maintaining a consistent RPE.

One of these races where again, chasing a quick time isn’t really the goal, as the hills will send the RPE soaring. So try and keep it consistent, you’re running really well right now so should approach this with a lot of confidence. Very best of luck.

Had this week off. I should of used the day to rest but instead I went for short bike ride, which I definitely shouldn’t of done as turned out to be hard leg work out against the wind! (I will learn by my mistakes) So started the run with tired legs. Knew it was only a 5k so just kept strong. 1st half was tough but second half was good. Ran the last bit chatting with Gary. Such a lovely event for a good cause. A year a go if someone had told me that I would come back in 12th place I wouldn’t of believed them. 30 seconds from being 3rd lady back aswell something now I need to work on 😆

It’s good to reflect back on how far you’ve come, but equally have that ambition going forward too. Love where you’re at right now and glad you’ve enjoyed the journey. Don’t be hard on yourself about the bike ride. We need to enjoy other aspects of our life too and running can’t always be our sole purpose. Fantastic running again Lindsey. Those 4th places will soon turn into podiums.
