parkrun

LOAD: 30

10 Mins WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)
8 x 100 metre Strides (RPE: 8)

parkrun @ 5km Pace (RPE: 8)

10 Mins CD @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

Running with others can reduce perceived effort so parkrun is a good option as an alternative speed session. 10 mins easy WU & CD please.

Good luck. As mentioned last week, we don’t need to be improving every week, as long as the work ethic is there. Progression in running looks like a roller coaster on a graph, it’s never linear. As long as we keep ticking off the sessions then in the long run those gains will come our way.

Great run this morning. Legs felt good. Slowed my pace down abit and that really helped with stamina. Ran EVERY step! Legs felt good. Tiredness not too bad either. In previous weeks I’ve really felt like I needed to stop and walk at 30 mins. Didn’t get that today. Was tough in last third but felt strong through out! Did 5 mins warmup and cooldown as suggested! Strides went well today. Felt like 4 x 50m was enough! Felt like I’d done some fast work! Great end to this week’s training!

Loving the positivity and congrats on getting the whole 5k completed. It’s all about celebrating these small wins and giving ourselves as much credit as we can. You’re doing all the right things now in terms of warming up, cooling down and getting the strides in. Sensible move to slow down a bit and ultimately learning your paces for each distance is a real skill and will bring the best out of you as a runner in the long run. Really well done Lucy. Onwards and upwards.
