parkrun

LOAD: 250

15 Mins WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

parkrun @ 5km Pace (RPE: 8)

10 Mins CD @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

Running with others can reduce perceived effort so parkrun is a good option as an alternative speed session. 10 mins easy WU & CD please.

I do like a well timed parkrun towards the end of a plan as you should be peaking right now. Obviously don’t push too hard to risk London, so if anything hurts ease back, but it’s nice to take advantage of your fitness. Pacers day so might be a 20 and 21 around.

Really enjoyed that. Was aiming for 21’ and got 20’04”. A bit tired at 1km but Michael Norris started running alongside me as we went into Bottle Alley so that settled me down. Then as we turned at half way I ran a big chunk with a strong runner pushing a buggie so I settled into his pace. The final Mile I picked up speed and got faster towards the end. In fact my watch didn’t start properly so I only have a record from Goat ledge onwards so missed the first mile. If I look at my pace it is a diagonal line getting steadily faster as the run goes on. My heart rate was 95% in the red zone which is a good change but I didn’t feel I was pushing it and could have done more. Bodes well for next week. This time next month I definitely want to go under twenty minutes. You must be pleased with your own run.

Love this. It makes me so happy a week out from London to get this verification that you’re running close to, if not, at your very best. Plus sounds like you could easily have found those extra 5 seconds if need be. Always nice to have those others around as support and I know how much it helps. Thank you, yes very happy with my consistency right now, feel like I’m running as well as I ever have done, just need to keep things sensible and continue to make small gains. Awesome running Conal.
