Progression Run

LOAD: 250

1 Mile WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)
1 Mile @ Marathon Pace (RPE: 4)
1 Mile @ Half Marathon Pace (RPE: 6)
1 Mile @ 10K Pace (RPE: 7)
1 Mile @ 5K Pace (RPE: 9)
1 Mile CD @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

A challenging but rewarding session where you can experience what it feels like to run at different paces.

Always good fun and quite challenging. Each week there will be 2 sessions, but sometimes we’ll incorporate a session into your long run giving you another easy run during the week.

Didn’t go well. Struggled to maintain 5k pace, had to stop a few times. May be physical as well as psychological. Had a severe migraine attack Sunday and been in the postdrome/hangover phase all week. Keen to try that again. Something to work on.

Sorry to hear about your migraine. But well done for giving this a go. It’s actually a really tough session to get right, especially solo and to keep increasing the speed is particular tough. I like the fact you are keen to give it another go and perhaps it was a bit too soon to introduce it into the training, but that’s some excellent quality speed work this week and the more you practice these sessions the better you will become. Well done Lou.
