Robertsbridge Midsummer 10K

LOAD: 41

2km WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 2)

10k @ HM Pace (RPE: 6-9)

2km @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

A new route for 2025 so it’s only 1 lap for the 10k. Quite an undulating course with some trails so likely your pace will be quite a bit slowly than a normal 10k. Good Luck.

No pressure here, or on Sunday, just go an enjoy this one. A lovely atmosphere and we need to make the most of these lovely summer evenings. They’ll soon be gone again.

I didn’t think this was as bad as I was expecting. There were so beautiful parts along the routes and saw parts of Robertsbridge I hadn’t seen before. I only walked one hill, the tes to slow plodded up so that was definitely a plus. It was the first time doing a race in my speed shoes as well. I could definitely tell on the lack of ankle support. Particularly this morning, it’s pretty sore but it did feel quite light on my feet in them I honestly didn’t know how I was gonna do in this one. As you know I’m full of injuries at the moment and my times have slowed down dramatically. Too be fair the ankles, glutes, niggly but bearable. It was definitely my stomach that made this the hardest. This wasn’t my worst performance though so that something, I got round also something and it was blooming hot. So considering I don’t think I did too badly

I did just see your time on Strava and was impressed. It’s obviously quite a slow course with the holds up and hills. So lots of positives to take here and glad you found that combination of enjoyment and hard work. That seconds half was a massive improvement and we were treated to a lovely sunset. I love moments like that. If I was being super critical and you obviously gathered that by my Strava comment, it is to try and fit in a better warm up. 10 mins at super easy pace is always recommended. Glad the shoes were good, definitely a few sections the ankles could have rolled. Overall though, every right to be very happy with this. Well done Kelly.
