Rye 10

LOAD: 600

10 Mins WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 2)

10 Miles @ HM Pace (RPE: 5-9)

10 Mins CD @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

With the hills, I’ve found half marathon pace is the best we can hope for here, but obviously that will fluctuate greatly depending on the section you are on. Dig deep up the hills and focus on good form.

2:02:26 last year. So let’s use that as a target and see how much time you can knock off. It’s going to be tougher than Haywards Heath and longer (HH was a short course). So I think in the region of 1:55 – 1:57 would be an excellent time. I think it’s a race which plays to your strengths with you ability to keep going up those hills. Try to focus on cadence down the hills and on the flats as well. You got this 💪🍊

PACE

Felt good . Only one blip at the start of the steep hill mile 8. Walked and took fluids and jelly babies. Felt ok after that and started running again. Cadence would have been good if I not walked. Cadence 163. Happy with pace on down hills and flats. Was in middle of the target times. Pace slightly faster than Hayward heath.

Great running Sue. Such a good improvement on last year as well. I knew you’d do well and this will improve the fitness even further going forward which is something to use and build confidence. Great to hear you feel like the speed on the flats and downhill is improving too.
