Weald Challenge

LOAD: 700

10 Mins WU @ Easy Pace (RPE: 2)

13.6 Miles @ Marathon Pace (RPE: 5-8)

10 Mins CD @ Easy Pace (RPE: 2)

A very well regarded trail race. Around 300 metres of elevation with plenty of rolling hills. CLICK HERE to view more details of the route on Strava.

I’m not going to set any targets here as it’s a trail route with some relatively challenging hills. For some guidance I’m hoping to run at my marathon pace, but that will be an effort to sustain that on this course.  I’m hoping we’ll do a car share, I’ll post about that later in the week. Very best of luck Michelle, you’re running great so this should go well.

Great weather, great company and great scenery 😊 I am really made up with this run. Enjoyed it very much, well I would have preferred to keep my trainers clean with out the bits of muddy areas 🤣 but honestly I felt good and never once felt it was a struggle, I realised I had something left at mile 10 -11 and pushed on stronger which really suprised me. A great morning out.

Great feedback. So pleased you enjoyed this run Michelle and felt strong. It shows your fitness is in a really good place. I also think it highlights the importance of finding that balance in the training and races. Last week we all ran as fast as we could, working extremely hard, this week we took a little step back and just enjoyed the scenery, albeit some of the hills were still tough. But that’s a lovely contrast to have, and definitely something to consider going forward when we plan races. Superb running.
