The Chichester 10k is a really strong event early in the season each year and normally attracts a stacked field. I took part for the first time in 2025 and really enjoyed it.
The setting is brilliant, Goodwood race circuit, with plenty of parking and ample toilets. The race starts and finishes in front of the main grandstand where friends and family gather to cheer in their loved ones.
The course does a lap of the circuit which is ideal at the start as there is plenty of room. It’s also a good surface to run on with just a touch of elevation. You then head out of the grounds onto the local roads and this is when I started to struggle.
There are a few inclines and a couple of sharp turnaround points which effected my speed. At km 9 you head back onto the motor circuit to run towards the finish.
I like the addition of the PB bell, although sadly I narrowly missed out on my own personal best as my paced dropped in the 2nd half.
All of us that took part in this event really enjoyed it though and I would highly recommend it. Well stayed overnight in Chichester which is just a 5 minute drive from the motor circuit.
It’s a great way to test your early season form and run in a strong field.
