Really this is a fun event and should be treated that way. And fun it is. Everyone dresses up in the Santa costume provided. Some regulars of the race and found ways to keep the costume in place, braces and velcro were witnessed when I tackled the race for the first time last year.
I must admit I took it a bit more seriously as it was an opportunity to see if I could finish in my highest ever race position. A goal I achieved with a 3rd place finish.
But it was a fun morning and everyone got into the festive spirit. The event raises money for a good cause and you get to keep your outfit, or what there is left of it after the race.
The route itself is a good one, flat along the Bexhill seafront, starting and finishing outside De La Waar Pavilion.
The warm up is also good fun with over 100 Santa’s together moving to the music. If you like Christmas and running then why not give this event a go. You might just enjoy it.
