First real big run of the marathon plan. Keep the pace easy and we should have a fuelling strategy on board. For example for my last marathon I took a gel every 40 mins but that was the minimum requirement and I probably could have done with more. Rest of the week is similar. We are back on the hills sadly πŸ˜₯ Tuesday

Hills can really build your strength as well as improve your running form. This session is tough but will really help you make big gains. Use the downhill as a light recovery jog, so exact recovery times can be flexible.

Done. Felt good
Great work Matt. Glad you were able to get these done. I should really attempt a hill reps session closer to you. Filsham might work for the longer reps later in the season.

Went easy for two reasons. Running with friends and had a stinking cold. The run knocked me out for the rest of the day
Sorry to hear about your cold. Given the effect it had on you, definitely a wise move to take it easy

160 Mins

48 POINTS

160 Mins @ Easy Pace (RPE: 3)

This is the sort of distance where fuelling is now a priority. You’ll also start to get tired legs, but unless there is any specific pain, keep going, you’ll be amazed how far you can run on tired legs.

i missed today because of my cold. If feeling better i will attempt tomorrow and change the intervals to later in the week. Will let you know uf i do Regards
No worries Matt. We were due a week off soon, but if you wanted we could add some runs in there to account for the missed pts this weekend? Important when you are poorly to rest up and get better as quickly as possible.
