Plan 1 – Week 4

  • Oct 13-19

Another solid week considering I am still feeling like shit. What ever this is has been lingering for 2 weeks.

Tuesday was easy with strides although did feel a little tired.

Wednesday I feel I went thorough the gears well. Started a little faster than my current paces and finished strong.

Thursday run was more steady than easy.

Friday was an easy plod with the Mrs.

Saturday PR was possible a little fast but enjoyed the chat and helping someone achieve a PB.

Sunday long run was a good effort. Especially being a lone ranger. When your alone the demons come out and you think you can’t do it but we all know we can if we try.

Currently I feel I am around the sub 20 5K mark and that’s what I shall be aiming for Saturday at PR as long as this bug has cleared.

If you get chance and you agree, lets adjust my paces at the top to around the 20 min 5K mark. I feel that is a good baseline for me to start working to now we’ve got a little training under my belt.

COACH

I feel like we’re starting to see that progress now and that’s a big sign too that the confidence is growing and you feel like you’re closing back in on a sub 20 parkrun. It’s been another great week for the team, and it gives me more belief that these plans are working a treat. So just ticking off those sessions. To get done what you have in those past two weeks with the illness shows real determination and excites me as to what is achievable going forward. I’ve switched those dates around for the Frostbite and added the XC. In terms of solo runs, perhaps reaching out to a wider circle within your club to see if anyone might join you. Let me know what you’re working towards, you might find yourself a new training partner who will be interested in the different sessions. I know from experience it can be tough to find someone running the exact same paces though.
