Plan 12 – Week 12

  • Sep 21-27

Hi Simon – so last week was a write off with some sort of flu then niggly headaches which I get from tine to time that linger for 3/5 days. Suspect it’s my adhd meds along with another trigger, poss flu stuff. Hey, ho – anyway, I still think the months/weeks of decent training still stand, I ran really well on last long run and that was only just over a week ago. Had a few long walks and stood a fair bit for work so not been completely inactive aside from a couple of feeling very crappy days.

I need to turn legs over this week just to convince my head that my legs still work – should I stick to this weeks sessions or do you think I need a tweak?

At this point I feel clear of everything, and I do reckon with a good attitude on the day should be on for at least a sub 1.50. πŸ’ͺ

COACH

Sorry to hear you were feeling poorly last week Victoria. Not much can be done but at this stage of the plan, giving the legs a nice rest could actually be a positive. I’m a similar boat myself having missed 3 sessions and not run since Wednesday due to illness, but I prefer to stick to the plan we have and not try and squeeze too much in before race day as that can then have a detrimental effect. It’s having that positive belief that all the training we’ve done prior is what really counts and that should see us through.
