Plan 2 – Week 21

  • Sep 21-27

Didn’t  push at all this week apart from a little in the Friday tempo run. Feel  like I’ve been saving my energy this past two weeks.
I booked flights to Seville from Thursday to Monday around February 15th next year and booked a nice comfortable place to stay, very central and a warm up jog distance from the start.
Will run Brighton HM two weeks later, probably at 1 hr 40’ pace if I’m totally recovered, but a few minutes slower if I’m still stiff and tired. Then the following week I’ll really go for it at Paddock Wood and aim for as close as I can get to 1 hr 30”.
That’s a long way off so happy to keep nudging along for the autumn and gradually build up longer runs towards the end of the year.

I was thinking about running 1hr 40” at Bedgebury HM in three weeks time but I definitely want to go under 20’ at Park Run the day before. I’ll be in good shape then but not sure if that is too much.

No injury issues

COACH

Was definitely a week to hold back and that’s good if you’re feeling fresh heading into Hastings. I think a week off post HHM would be wise and then I can start plugging some of those dates into the diary and look to get the next plan created. But appreciate all the info, leave it with me, I’ll process it a bit better post Chester and when I back 100% and offer some feedback about the schedule. Well done Conal.
